Are you only open during term time?

Can I use my 'free' government hours during school holidays?

This depends on the type of contract you choose:\n\nTerm-Time: Your funded hours apply for 38 weeks of the year. During the 14 weeks of school holidays, you would pay our standard private rate for all hours.\n\nStretched: Your funding is spread out across the whole year (the 46 weeks that Seven Steps Childcare is open), so you get a consistent amount of funded hours every month, including through the summer holidays.

Do I have to pay if my child is ill or we go on holiday?

Yes. To secure your child’s place in our setting, full fees are payable for any sessions your child misses due to family holidays or illness. This ensures we can keep the space available fspecifically for your child throughout the year.

Do you accept government funding?

Yes, we accept government funding for eligible children. You can choose to use your funded hours on a Term-Time basis (38 weeks per year) or a Stretched basis (spread across the 46 weeks that Seven Steps Childcare is open).

Do you charge for emergency closures?

If we are open and available to work, but you cannot reach us (e.g., due to local travel issues), fees remain payable. If we are forced to close the setting for safety reasons (e.g., heating failure or extreme weather), no fees will be charged.

Do you provide food?

Yes, we provide a healthy, nutritious balance of cold snacks and lunch throughout the day. Parents may prefer to provide their own healthy packed lunch and snacks and this is an option to do too. Please ensure all dietary requirements and allergies are disclosed during the settling-in period.

What happens if the childminder is ill or on holiday?

If we are unable to provide care due to illness or pre-booked holidays, no fees are payable. We provide you with our holiday dates at the start of each year so you have plenty of notice to arrange alternative cover.

What hours are you open?

Opening hours are 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday (initially). Please note that these days may change depending on the days required by the first children who join Seven Steps Childcare.

Will I be charged if I am late collecting my child?
